Between recipe development, hosting, meal prepping, and learning new culinary techniques I spend a lot of time in the kitchen for both my brand and personal life as a registered dietitian. I have put together a list of my top kitchen gadgets of 2025 that I think everyone should have.
Unlike other lists, I wanted to make a list of things that wouldn’t be used just once or twice, but rather a list of items that can save you time, space, and/or money in the kitchen.

Produce Saver Containers
The price of produce can already add up and if half of it doesn’t make it to the end of the week, it can get even more expensive. So if there’s a container that helps to keep your food fresher for longer I am all for it.
Immersion Blender
Immersion blenders are great for meal prep as you can use them to blend big batches of soups, dips, and sauces or even make your own dressings or mayonnaise. Its a quick and easy way to level-up your culinary skill while making something delicious for the next few weeks.
Metal Fish Spatula
I’ve used all kinds of spatulas: plastic, rubber, firm metal, flimsy ones, solid or perforated, but if I could only keep one, it’d be the fish spatula.
It’s flexible enough to scrape up food from uneven pans, firm enough to flip big items in one go, and the perforated head drains oil or water with ease. The tapered edge even makes it great for serving casseroles, brownies, and more. Way more versatile than the name suggests!
Multiuse Air-fryer
As a registered dietitian, I am a huge fan of the air-fryer to support healthier cooking. However, with an appliance that size, you might as well get one you can use for multiple cooking applications. Multiuse Air-fryers combine an air-fryer with an oven, toaster oven, and more. So say you are just making a small batch of cookies, rather than wasting the time for the big oven to heat up you can use it for smaller baking applications.
Silicone Baking Mat
While they’re often used to line baking trays, I frequently use silicone mats under my cutting board to keep it from slipping. It makes chopping faster and safer. Unlike a damp towel, the mat doesn’t hold moisture, so it helps prevent wooden cutting boards from warping or splitting over time.
End Grain Wood Cutting Board
The switch to wood cutting boards has been a craze this past year to decrease exposure to microplastics that can make it into your food from plastic cutting board. On top of that, there is less reasons to use plastic cutting boards over wood. Many people choose to use plastic thinking they are more sanitary, but it seems to be just as safe, if not safer, to use wood when properly cleaning your board [1,2,3].
While an edge grain hardwood cutting board is great, you can also help save your knives with an end grain cutting board. With end grain cutting boards you are cutting into horizontal fiber that can separate and “self heal” (the fibers press back together) with the cut of a knife. Meaning your knives and cutting board last longer.
Digital Food Scale
If you like baking, a digital food scale is a must. Measuring with volume works, but there is easily inconsistencies with volumes due to item packing. Such as packing brown sugar into a measuring cup versus just getting a scoop of it. Food scales help to improve the accuracy of measurements to help make the same delicious product every time.
Additionally, food scales can be used for improved accuracy in tracking nutritional intakes. For example, with athletes or people who have very specific macronutrient or calorie goals they are trying to reach, the use of a food scale is a more accurate way of monitoring that.
Bench Scraper
Bench scrapers are like spatulas for your countertops and cutting boards. You can use them to easily transfer chopped ingredients, move items around, or scrape up anything stuck to the surface. They’re also incredibly handy if you make your own bread or pastries, perfect for dividing, moving, and shaping dough with ease.
Expertise and Experience
All of the items on this list are items I either own or have had positive experiences using in other kitchens, and wish I owned. The brands chosen were comparable to the ones I own but, may differ due to product brand discontinuation, design changes, selective availability, or items with lower costs available on Amazon.com at the time of this articles release.
